Title:
LIQUID-CRYSTAL DISPLAY AND SIGNAL CONVERTING CIRCUIT
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2011/083808
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Disclosed is a liquid-crystal display (100) which comprises a liquid-crystal display panel (10) having pixels each defined by a red subpixel (R), a green subpixel (G), a blue subpixel (B), and a yellow subpixel (Ye); and a driving circuit (20) that supplies display signals to the subpixels of the liquid-crystal display panel (10). When achromatic colors of at least a part of halftones of all the halftones are displayed by a pixel, white point adjustment is performed by increasing or decreasing the gradation of two subpixels including the blue subpixel (B) while the gradation of the other two subpixels including the yellow subpixel (Ye) is fixed. The above-described white-point adjusting method can be preferably used for multiple-primary-color liquid-crystal displays that display colors using four primary colors.
