Abstract:
A pixel has first and second subpixels each of which has a liquid crystal capacitance
and at least one auxiliary capacitance. After supplying the display voltage
which is present in each subpixel electrode of the first and second subpixels
and corresponds to the gradation, a voltage difference (ΔVα) is
produced between the voltage applied to the liquid crystal capacitance of the
first subpixel and the voltage applied to the liquid crystal capacitance of the
second subpixel through the at least one auxiliary capacitance corresponding
to each of the first and second subpixels. A shift to yellow is suppressed at a diagonal
viewing angle by reducing the voltage differences (ΔVα) in a blue
pixel and/or a cyan pixel more than those of the other color pixels.
