Title:
LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2011/045978
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Disclosed is a capacitively coupled divided-domain liquid crystal display. The liquid crystal display includes rows and columns of pixels each having two pixel electrodes connected to each other via a capacitor. Two data signal lines (Sx, Sy) are provided for one pixel column, and one scanning signal line (Gn) and one signal subline (gn) are provided for one pixel row. In the pixel that belongs to the pixel column and the pixel row, one of the two pixel electrodes included in the pixel is connected to the data signal line (Sx) via a transistor connected to the scanning signal line (Gn), and the other is connected to a storage capacitor wiring line (Csn) via a transistor connected to the signal subline (gn). Among four consecutive pixel rows, two scanning signal lines (Gn, G(n+1)) corresponding to the two pixel rows located upstream in the scanning direction and two signal sublines (g(n+2), g(n+3)) corresponding to the two pixel rows located downstream in the scanning direction are simultaneously selected. The liquid crystal display can suppress burn-in of the pixels and can reduce load imposed on the scanning signal lines.
