Abstract:
A liquid crystal display. The liquid crystal display comprises a backlight module (1), a first liquid crystal panel (3) provided on the backlight module (1), and a second liquid crystal panel (5) provided on the first liquid crystal panel (3). The first liquid crystal panel (3) divides backlight emitted from the backlight module (1) into n*m partitions, n*m being the resolution of the first liquid crystal panel (3), so that the number of the backlight partitions is greatly increased, and no color filter substrate is provided in the first liquid crystal panel (3) to achieve the effect similar to a black-and-white screen, the light transmittance ratio of all the backlight partitions can be controlled to achieve fine regional backlight adjustment. The backlight subjected to regional adjustment by means of the first liquid crystal panel (3) is incident into the second liquid crystal panel (5) for color display. The bright and dark contrast can be obviously improved, the display effect is improved, and the display quality is improved.
