Abstract:
This liquid crystal optical element comprises a first liquid crystal cell, a second liquid crystal cell, and an optical element that refracts light. Each of the first liquid crystal cell and the second liquid crystal cell comprises a first substrate, a second substrate disposed to face the first substrate, and a liquid crystal layer disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate. The first substrate comprises a first electrode group in which first transparent electrodes and second transparent electrodes are alternately disposed parallel to a first direction, and a second electrode group in which fifth transparent electrodes and sixth transparent electrodes are alternately disposed parallel to the first direction, and the second substrate comprises a third electrode group in which third transparent electrodes and fourth transparent electrodes are alternately disposed parallel to a second direction, and a fourth electrode group in which seventh transparent electrodes and eighth transparent electrodes are alternately disposed parallel to the second direction.
