Abstract:
The present invention provides liquid crystal polyester fibers which are capable of achieving improved weather resistance without having an ultraviolet absorbent kneaded in the fibers or having an ultraviolet absorbent that has weather resistance adhere to the fibers after spinning. The present invention provides liquid crystal polyester fibers which are formed substantially only of a liquid crystal polyester and use 5% by mass or less of an ultraviolet absorbent, while having a strength retention ratio of 60% or more in a weather fastness test with respect to light of a xenon arc lamp in accordance with JIS L0843.
