Provided are: a liquid-crystal polymer which is easy of production and which has high thermal conductivity; and molded articles which are obtained by molding the liquid-crystal polymer and which have high mechanical properties. Specifically provided is a liquid-crystal polymer which is obtained by polymerizing a monomer having an asymmetric molecular structure and which exhibits a fusion enthalpy (ΔH) of 2.0 to 10J/g as determined by DSC and an intrinsic viscosity (I.V.) of 5 to 7dL/g. It is preferable that the monomer having an asymmetric molecular structure be at least one kind of monomer selected from the group consisting of 4-hydroxybenzoic acid (4-HBA), 6-hydroxy-2-naphthoic acid (HNA), N-acetylamino-benzoic acid (ABA), and 4-hydroxy-4'-biphenylcarboxylic acid (HBCA).
