Abstract:
A liquid dispensing mechanism contained in a handle of a cleaning implement. The handle (10) includes internal upper and lower valve assemblies (20, 40) sealably mounted within the handle (10) to provide an air tight chamber (52) therebetween for holding liquid. The upper valve assembly (20) includes a push button actuator (30) for introducing air into the chamber (52). The lower valve assembly (40) includes a dispensing outlet (98) for discharging the liquid from the chamber (52). When air is introduced into the air tight chamber (52) through the upper valve assembly (20), a corresponding amount of liquid is dispensed from the chamber (52) and out from the handle (10) through the dispensing outlet (98).
