Title:
LIQUID DROP EJECTOR
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2004/076181
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A liquid drop ejector in which appropriate recovery processing can be carried out readily and surely when a main power supply is interrupted and then turn on again. The liquid drop ejector comprises a plurality of liquid drop ejection heads each having an actuator being driven through a drive circuit, and a diaphragm being displaced through driving of the actuator to drive the actuator by the drive circuit and eject liquid in the cavity from a nozzle in the form of a liquid drop, characterized in that the ejector is further provided with a power supply interruption detecting means (28), an auxiliary power supply (26), a residual oscillation detecting means, and a storage means so that the actuator is driven when interruption of a main power supply is detected by the power supply interruption detecting means (28), residual oscillation of the diaphragm is detected by the residual oscillation detecting means, and the oscillation pattern of the residual oscillation of the diaphragm thus detected and/or the information obtained therefrom is stored in the storage means.
