Abstract:
This liquid ejection device comprises a liquid ejection head, a standby unit, a retention unit, and an operation unit. The head has a nozzle surface. The operation unit relatively moves the retention unit with respect to the standby unit and the head from a position at which a wiping cartridge supported by the standby unit without being retained by the retention unit is retained by the retention unit to a position at which the cartridge retained by the retention unit contacts the nozzle surface.
