This liquid feeding device is provided with an ejection flow passage, a pump part, a liquid feeding pressure sensor, a non-ejection time pressure sensor, a precompression unit, and a precompression-speed determination unit. The pump part has a plurality of plunger pumps that are connected in series or in parallel with one another. At least one of the plunger pumps in the pump part is a closing pump having connection with the ejection flow passage, the connection being blocked during a non-ejection time period in which an ejection step for ejecting liquid to the ejection flow passage is not executed. The precompression unit is configured to, when the closing pump is in the non-ejection time period after completion of a suction step for sucking liquid into a pump chamber, execute a precompression step for causing the closing pump to perform an ejection operation until the non-ejection time pressure becomes substantially equal to the liquid feeding pressure, on the basis of the output from the liquid feeding pressure sensor and the output from the non-ejection time pressure sensor. The precompression-speed determination unit is configured to determine the precompression speed of the closing pump in the precompression step.
