Abstract:
Provided is a liquid nutritional composition which is in a small volume, has high energy, and allows easy ingestion of a variety of nutrients such as protein, lipids, saccharides, dietary fiber, vitamins, minerals, and vitamin-like substances. Provided is a liquid nutritional composition which contains protein, fat, saccharides, and dietary fiber and has a calorie content of 1.7-2.3 kcal/mL, a viscosity at 25°C of 25-40 mPa·s, and an osmotic pressure of 420-500 mOsm/L, wherein: the composition contains 6.2-6.8 mass% of the protein, 6.4-7.0 mass% of lipids, 18-24 mass% of saccharides, and 1.5-2.5 mass% of dietary fiber; and the dietary fiber contains, in the total dietary fiber, 20-35 mass% of water-soluble dietary fiber, which has a weight average molecular weight of 15,000-25,000 and viscosity of a 5 mass% solution of 10 mPa·s or less.
