Abstract:
Provide is a liquid nutritional composition that offers excellent calcium absorption efficiency, and that does not give rise to precipitated calcium citrate which causes the blockage of a PEG catheter when a medical professional or a caregiver administers the liquid nutritional composition. This liquid nutritional composition comprises: nutrients including proteins, lipids, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals, and dietary fiber; and organic acids. In the liquid nutritional composition: the total content of the organic acids is from 2.0 to 3.5 mass% to the total amount of the liquid nutritional composition; in cases where citric acid is included as the organic acids, the content of citric acid is from 0 to 2.0 mass% to the total amount of the liquid nutritional composition, and said total content is reached by blending organic acids other than citric acid; the heat quantity of the liquid nutritional composition is from 1.25 to 2.25 kcal/ml; and the content of calcium is from 75 to 160 mg/100 ml.
