Abstract:
A liquid-seal vibration isolating device, comprising an inner tube (10) and an outer tube (12) connected to each other through a vibration isolating base body (14) formed of a rubber material and a main liquid chamber (16) having a part of a chamber wall formed of the vibration isolating base body (14) and an auxiliary liquid chamber (18) having a part of a chamber wall formed of a diaphragm (24), wherein the part of the chamber wall of the main liquid chamber (16) is formed of a piston-like member (28) and a cylinder-like member (30) displaceable so as to vary the volume of only the main fluid chamber (16) according to the elastic deformation of the vibration isolating base body (14) when vibration is added thereto to develop a vibration isolating performance in a wide frequency range, MR fluid (34) having a viscosity varying according to the intensity of a magnetic field is sealingly held between the piston-like member (28) and the cylinder-like member (30), and an electromagnet (40) capable of controlling the intensity of the magnetic field is installed in the piston-like member (28).
