Title:
LIQUID STATE SENSOR
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2007/004583
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A liquid state sensor in which a section for detecting a liquid level is integrated with a section for detecting the concentration of a specific component contained in the liquid. In the liquid state sensor (100) for measuring the level of aqueous solution of urea and the concentration of urea, a level detecting section (70) and a liquid properties detecting section (30) are coupled under an insulated state. An outer tube electrode (10) and an internal electrode (20) constituting the level detecting section (70) form a capacitor, and a level is detected based on the capacitance which varies depending on the level of aqueous solution of urea existing between them. A holder (120) for holding a ceramic heater (110) is fixed to the distal end (21) of the internal electrode (20) and the holder (120) is supported by a rubber bush (80) in the distal end (11) of the outer tube electrode (10). Concentration of urea is determined at the liquid properties detecting circuit section on a circuit board (60) based on a voltage value corresponding to the resistance of a heating resistor pattern provided on the ceramic heater (110) when a current is supplied to the heating resistor pattern for a predetermined time.
