Abstract:
A liquid surface detecting device (1, 1a, 1b) is provided with: a movable body (30); a base plate (42); a plurality of segment electrodes (430) with which a sliding contact point (411) makes sliding contact in accordance with the movement of the movable body; an output electrode (45) which provides an electrical output corresponding to an electrical resistance between the sliding contact point and said output electrode; and a resistor (47) which is provided with a higher electrical resistance than the segment electrodes, and which is electrically connected straddling the segment electrodes and the output electrode. The resistor is electrically connected to the output electrode at each of a first resistor portion (470) and a second resistor portion (471) provided on either side, in a direction of movement (Dl, Du), of an electrode region (R1) in which the segment electrodes are arranged on a mounting surface (42a), and if a movement direction (Dl) in which the movable body moves in accordance with a lowering of a liquid surface level (L) is defined as a basis direction (Db), the second resistor portion positioned in the basis direction relative to the first resistor portion is completely disconnected in such a way as to block conduction of electricity between the output electrode side and the electrode region side.
