Description:
LIQUID THRUST ENGINE MILLED IN LAYERS

OBJECT OF THE INVENTION

The present invention refers to a liquid thrust engine milled in layers.

More specifically, the object of the invention relates to a liquid thrust engine milled in layers, the design of which is forged between two plates of a material suitable for its performance and inside of which the entire combustion process is generated.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Rockets are complicated and costly objects, partly because they must be high- performance apparatuses that ensure reliability; unfortunately, these machines are extremely complex because they have several movable parts and shapes that are difficult to invoice. It has been found that any mini-scale movable part that receives vibrations or oscillations can affect several processes of the combustion chamber and cause different types of failures in some of the components.

This could be decreased by using a jet rocket engine design with a self- protecting system that ensures the reduction of vibrations of the device in order to reduce the inherent risks of said apparatus with high standards.

U.S. Pat. No. 8,191 ,351 B2 owned by Loehr shows a jet rocket engine; however, the use thereof is exposed. In the present invention, the use is internal in order to make it easier to manufacture and to reduce the risks associated with the vibration that can lead to a failure in the ignition process, passage of the fuel or some other aspect related to the device.

U.S Pat No. 5,836,150 owned by Garcia consists of a thrust engine using jet combustion chambers, but the design thereof is based on a microthruster for MEMS (Micro electromechanical devices) with a size of approximately 100 micrometres, and it does not use a manufacturing process for the production thereof since it is manufactured on a silicon wafer. In the present invention, the milling process for the design is for dimensions much larger than at least 100 mm x 100 mm x 12 mm.

The liquid thrust engine milled in layers of the present invention resolves all the aforementioned drawbacks.

DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The invention relates to a liquid thrust engine milled in layers and to the method of manufacturing thereof.

More specifically, the invention relates to a mini thrust engine with internal combustion, the design of which is forged between two plates of a material suitable for the use thereof and inside of which the entire combustion process is generated.

This body contains the following elements: Fastening mechanism of the layers in contact with the outside, electric starters, fuel reservoir tanks, fluid pumps for pushing fuel through pipelines, fluid control valves and fuel sprinklers, combustion chambers, sealant rings and monitoring sensors of the device.

There exists the need for a mini-scale machine that is simpler to manufacture, cheaper and more reliable, and an objective of this invention is to provide said apparatus.

One objective of this invention is to use a milling method for thrust apparatuses. The objective of this invention is a thruster that is milled to protect it from vibrations.

Another objective of this invention is to provide a milled thruster design for use in small satellites.

An objective of this invention is the use of sprinklers to deposit the fuel in the combustion chambers.

An objective of this invention is the use of compression pumps and control valves to push and regulate the output of the fuel.

Another objective of this invention is to contain combustion chambers where the energy to push is generated.

Another objective of this invention is to contain electric starters for ignition.

Another objective of this invention is also to have fuel transporting pipelines from the reservoir tanks to the combustion chambers.

Essentially, the invention relates to a liquid trust engine milled in layers comprising at least one unit that in turn comprises:

at least one tank configured to house a pressurized oxidizing liquid;

at least one tank configured to house pressurized mixed liquid that stores the elements necessary for combustion;

a regulating valve for injecting liquid, through liquid channels, in order to be combined in at least one combustion chamber, and to expel the gases through at least one divergent ejector;

a compression pump configured to regulate the passage of the liquids and the mixtures thereof.

The invention also relates to a method of manufacturing the above liquid thrust engine, comprising:

a step of manufacturing at least one unit of the above engine carried out by means of milling.
