Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing a lithium compound with which it is possible to easily obtain a positive electrode active material containing a lower amount of magnetic substances while being able to shorten the total time required for manufacturing a non-aqueous electrolytic secondary battery positive electrode. Provided is a lithium compound used for manufacturing a positive electrode active material for a non-aqueous electrolytic secondary battery, which enables production of a lithium-transition metal composite oxide by being mixed with a transition metal composite hydroxide or the like obtained through a crystallization reaction, and further by firing a resultant mixture thereof, wherein when said lithium compound is added with water and a magnet and subjected to mixing and stirring, the amount of magnetic substances captured by the magnet is not more than 0.0007 mass% with respect to the amount of lithium in the lithium compound. This configuration enables easy production of a positive electrode active material that contains magnetic substances in an amount of 0.02 mass-ppm or less while being able to shorten the total time required for manufacturing the positive electrode active material.
