Abstract:
A lithium ion battery charge/discharge control device that controls charging and discharging of a lithium ion battery (3) that starts an engine starter (1). The lithium ion battery charge/discharge control device comprises a voltage sensor (SN1) that detects the voltage of the lithium ion battery; a current sensor (SN2) that detects the current of the lithium ion battery; and a control unit (30) that controls the charging and discharging of the lithium ion battery. The control unit (30): calculates the capacity degradation speeds of both a positive electrode and a negative electrode in the lithium ion battery, on the basis of detection values for the voltage sensor and the current sensor after a first time has elapsed since the engine starter has started and on the basis of the detection values for the voltage sensor and the current sensor after a second time, longer than the first time, has elapsed; and restricts charging and discharging of the lithium ion battery on the basis of comparison results between the capacity degradation speeds for both the positive electrode and negative electrode and determination reference values for both the positive electrode and negative electrode.
