Abstract:
Provided is a lithium ion oxygen battery which is capable of achieving high energy density without being deteriorated in performance due to moisture or carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. A lithium ion oxygen battery (1) is provided with: a positive electrode (2) which contains a lithium source, while containing oxygen as an active material; a negative electrode (3) which is composed of a material that is capable of absorbing and desorbing lithium ions; and an electrolyte layer (4) that is sandwiched between the positive electrode (2) and the negative electrode (3) and capable of conducting lithium ions. The positive electrode (2), the negative electrode (3) and the electrolyte layer (4) are contained in a hermetically sealed case (5). The positive electrode (2) comprises an oxygen storage material and a lithium compound (excluding a complex metal oxide of lithium and an other metal) that serves as the lithium source.
