Abstract:
Provided are a lithium ion secondary battery charging control method and charging mechanism that make it possible to more accurately determine the lifespan of a lithium ion secondary battery using a simple configuration. A lithium ion secondary battery charging control method in which an integrated charge count value is ascertained is such that a prescribed value is added to the integrated charge count value for the lithium ion secondary battery if both a residual voltage value that is the voltage value of the lithium ion secondary battery before the start of charging and the amount of time that has elapsed since the previous charging time of the lithium ion secondary battery are at or above prescribed values, and the lifespan of the lithium ion secondary battery is estimated on the basis of the integrated charge count value.
