Abstract:
Disclosed is a lithium ion secondary battery with little reduction in battery capacity during rapid charging and with high energy density. Specifically disclosed is a lithium ion secondary battery wherein a cathode contains a lithium-nickel manganese oxide indicated by the formula (I) LixNiaM1bMn2-a-bO4 (wherein, M1 is at least one type selected from a group formed from Ti, Si, Co, Fe, Cr, Al, Mg, B, and Li; 0＜x≦1, 0.4≦a≦0.6, and 0≦b≦0.4.) and which has a specific surface area of 0.2-1 m2g-1, and an anode contains a lithium titanium oxide indicated by the formula (II) LiyTi5/3-cM2cO4 (wherein M2 is at least one type selected from a group formed by Ta, Zr, Cr, Ni, and V. 4/3≦y≦7/3 and 0≦ｃ＜0.1.) and which has a specific surface area of 4-20 m2g-1.+
