Abstract:
Provided is a lithium ion secondary battery which has a long service life. A lithium ion secondary battery which is provided with an electrolyte solution containing (FSO2)2NLi and a chain carbonate represented by general formula (A) and a negative electrode containing a negative electrode active material, and which is characterized in that substances having a length of 30 nm or more are present in the surface of the negative electrode active material at a density within the range of from 0 substances/μm2 (inclusive) to 80 substances/μm2 (exclusive). R20OCOOR21 General formula (A) (In the formula, each of R20 and R21 independently represents a group selected from among chain alkyl groups represented by CnHaFbClcBrdIe and groups that contain a cyclic alkyl group in the chemical structures and are represented by CmHfFgClhBriIj; n represents an integer of 1 or more; m represents an integer of 3 or more; and each one of a, b, c, d, e, f, g, h, i and j independently represents an integer of 0 or more, while satisfying (2n + 1) = (a + b + c + d + e) and (2m - 1) = (f + g + h + i + j).)
