Abstract:
An embodiment of the present invention provides a lithium ion secondary battery which is provided with: a positive electrode including, as a positive electrode active material, LiaNixCoyMzO2 (where 0.9≤a≤1.2, 0.3≤x≤0.8, 0.2≤y+z≤0.7, and M is a metal element other than Li, Ni, and Co); and a negative electrode including non-graphitic carbon as a negative electrode active material. In a portion where the positive electrode and the negative electrode face each other, the amount (P) of the positive electrode active material per unit area and the amount (N) of the negative electrode active material per unit area satisfy the relational expression 0.65≤P/N≤1.05.
