Abstract:
A lithium metal composite oxide powder which is composed of primary particles only, or of the primary particles and secondary particles that are aggregates of the primary particles, and which is characterized in that the lithium metal composite oxide is represented by composition formula (1) and satisfies all the requirements (A), (B) and (C) described below. (1): Li(Lix(Ni(1-y-z-w)CoyMnzMw)1-x)O2 (In the formula, M represents one or more metal elements selected from the group consisting of Fe, Cu, Ti, Mg, Al, W, B, Mo, Nb, Zn, Sn, Zr, Ga, La and V; -0.1 ≤ x ≤ 0.2; 0 ≤ y ≤ 0.4; 0 ≤ z ≤ 0.4; and 0 ≤ w ≤ 0.1.) (A) The BET specific surface area is less than 2 m2/g. (B) The average particle diameter of the primary particles is 1 μm or more. (C) The ratio of the content (mass%) of alkali metals other than lithium to the sulfuric acid radical content (mass%) is 0.1 or more but less than 50.
