Title:
LITHIUM POWDER, LITHIUM VANADIUM OXIDE, LITHIUM SECONDARY BATTERY USING A GEL-POLYMER ELECTROLYTE, AND METHOD FOR PREPARING AN ELECTRODE THEREOF
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2012/161473
Kind Code:
A2
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a lithium secondary battery, and to a method for preparing an electrode thereof. The lithium secondary battery can suppress dendrite growth, which is often a problem for lithium metal electrodes, by using a lithium powder for an anode, can increase the effective surface area of an electrode involved in a battery reaction, and can further suppress the dendrite growth using a gel-polymer electrode, thereby contributing to stability, and can achieve a high capacity and long service life by using a non-lithiated cathode instead of a conventional lithiated cathode. During injection, the gel-polymer electrolyte can deeply permeate into a lithium-powder electrode having pores, to thereby introduce the lithium powder into the electrode as well as onto the surface of the electrode so as to participate in the battery reaction, and can securely cover the powder after gelation to thereby suppress the dendrite growth. Thus, it is possible to overcome typical problems regarding the stability and service life of lithium metal electrodes.
