Abstract:
The present invention relates to a lithium secondary battery and a method for producing same. More particularly, the present invention provides a lithium secondary battery comprising: an electrode assembly having an anode, a cathode, and a separator interposed between the anode and the cathode; and a non-aqueous electrolyte impregnated in the electrode assembly. The separator further includes a layer which has at least one face contacting the anode and the cathode, the at least one face having a plurality of fractured capsules. Each capsule is coated with a binder copolymer in which inorganic particles are dispersed. The lithium secondary battery of the present invention eliminates the need for a separate non-aqueous electrolyte injection process, and improves both the mechanical physical properties of the separator thereof and the stability of the battery.
