The present invention addresses the problem of providing a load control device with which, in a vehicle which has been equipped with by-wire technology, even when a driver steps on an operation pedal, it is possible to feel a reaction from the operation pedal side, and operability of the operation pedal by the driver is improved. Provided is a load control device (1), comprising: an operation pedal cylinder (20) which generates a first load in response to a pressing force acting upon an operation pedal (10); a reaction generation unit (100) which generates a second load; a first flow path (30) which transmits the first load; a second flow path (40) which transmits the second load; a first check valve (200) which is positioned upon the first flow path (30); and a second check valve (300) which is positioned upon the second flow path (40). When the first check valve (200) transitions from a closed state to an open state by the first load, and/or when the second check valve (300) transitions from a closed state to an open state by the second load, the first load and/or the second load is reduced.
