Abstract:

A sitting detection device (1) that is provided with: a base (2) that is engaged with a pair of S springs (100); and a load-detecting sensor unit (SU) that is arranged upon the base (2) and that has a first electrode (52) and a second electrode (62) that face and that, during sitting detection, contact each other as a result of pressing force from a seat cushion (SC). During sitting detection, an upper surface (47S) of the load-detecting sensor unit (SU) that is pressed by the seat cushion (SC) is positioned at the same height as upper-end parts (101) of the S springs (100) that are engaged with the base (2) or above the upper-end parts (101), and contact surfaces of the first electrode (52) and the second electrode (62) are positioned below the upper-end parts (101) of the S springs (100) that are engaged with the base (2).
