Title:
LOAD DISTRIBUTION DEVICE AND METHOD
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2014/192132
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A device forecasts a change over time of a resource consumption quantity for each logical structure for a future period (schedule period) on the basis of a history which represents a history of the resource consumption quantity for the logical structure. In each of a plurality of time segments which configures the schedule period, the device makes a trial selection of a plurality of positioning candidates whereby the resource consumption quantity is less than or equal to a determination reference value, in each of a plurality of physical machines. For each of a plurality of overall positioning recommendations, the device computes a migration cost of migrating the logical structure among the physical machines for positioning according to the overall positioning recommendation. Each of the plurality of overall positioning recommendations is a combination of a plurality of selected positioning candidates respectively corresponding to the plurality of time segments. The selected positioning candidate for one of the time segments is one of the plurality of positioning candidates corresponding to the time segment. The device selects one of the plurality of overall positioning recommendations on the basis of the migration cost of each of the plurality of overall positioning recommendations.
