Abstract:
A load driving device for driving a plurality of gate driving power elements (2, 3, 3a, 3b) provided in parallel on a pathway for supplying power to a load. The load driving device is provided with: a first on-driving circuit (5, 5a) for on-driving a first power element (2), which is one of a plurality of power elements; a second on-driving circuit (6) for on-driving a second power element (3, 3a, 3b), which is another of the plurality of power elements excluding the first power element; a current detection circuit (10) for detecting the current in at least the first power element; and a control circuit (4) for performing a control so that a gate voltage is applied by the first on-driving circuit at a first variation rate and the first power element is switched on, whereupon, if an overcurrent of the first power element is not detected by the current detection circuit, a gate voltage is applied by the second on-driving circuit at a second variation rate that is greater than the first variation rate, and the second power element is switched on.
