Abstract:
In past methods, at least one cycle of diagnostic time was required in order to detect pulses, and a problem was presented in that the diagnostic time was long. This load driving device is provided with a drive-side switching element, a synchronization rectifier circuit having a reflux-side switching element, a driver control circuit for controlling the synchronization rectifier circuit, and a voltage monitor circuit for monitoring whether or not the voltage of an output terminal of the synchronization rectifier circuit is within a prescribed voltage range. When a diagnosis command is received, the driver control circuit performs control so that, when the drive-side switching element is switched from ON to OFF, the reflux-side switching element also turns OFF. In a period during which the drive-side switching element and the reflux-side switching element are both OFF, the voltage monitor circuit detects a normal state when the voltage being monitored is at a normal level.
