Disclosed are a load measuring apparatus, for a vehicle, which measures the load supported by an axle, a method for same, and a lift axle control system equipped with the load measuring apparatus. The load measuring apparatus according to the present invention can measure the amount of minute deformation when a part between two points of an axle is stretched when the axle of a freight vehicle equipped with a lift axle is deformed by an imposed load. In addition, presented is an auto-calibration method for finding the proportional constant K between the deformation amount of the axle and the axle load.
