Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a load testing apparatus that is low-cost and capable of not only highly accurately measuring a horizontal resistance force exerted on a test object, such as a laminated rubber support, but also easily conducting a bi-directional horizontal load test. [Solution] This load testing apparatus is provided with a movable base 3 on which a test object T is placed and that is movable in a horizontal direction relative to a stationary base 11, a horizontal direction actuator 4 that applies a horizontal loading to the movable base, a first pressurizing member 7 that is positioned above the test object and abuts against a top surface of the test object, a support structure (laminated rubber) 10 that is placed on the first pressurizing member, a second pressurizing member 12 that is positioned above the support structure and abuts against a top surface of the support structure, a vertical-direction actuator 6 that applies a vertical loading to the second pressurizing member, and load cells 8 and 9 that are disposed between the first pressurizing member and the second pressurizing member and measure the loading in the horizontal direction. The support structure applies, to the first pressurizing member and the second pressurizing member, a horizontal force that increases as a relative horizontal displacement between an upper part and a lower part of the support structure increases.
