Abstract:
Provided is a means for estimating the locations of radio wave transmission sources that is suited to a multi-path environment. A location estimation system that comprises a location estimation unit that estimates the locations of radio wave transmission sources using: the intensities of radio waves received by a plurality of radio wave sensors that have been distributed in a prescribed area; a propagation model that expresses the relationship between the intensities of the radio waves and distance; and a probability distribution model for the intensities of the radio waves. The location estimation unit of the location estimation system estimates the locations of the radio wave transmission sources using respective propagation models for sub-regions into which the prescribed area has been divided on the basis of the locations of the radio wave sensors within the prescribed area and the arrangement of obstacles in the prescribed area.
