A lock device for an automatic vending machine, provided with a locking member (R) and a slider (31) which has a substantially squared C-shaped transverse cross-section and which is disposed in such a manner that the slider (31) can move between a locking position at which the slider (31) can be locked to the locking member (R) entering from a slider opening (3111) formed in the slider (31) and an unlocking position at which the slider (31) is unlocked from the locking member (R). The slider (31) has a contact section (3122) formed integrally at a predetermined location of an extended end section of the slider (31). When a long bar-like tool (K) is inserted from the slider opening (3111), the contact section (3122) makes contact with the tip of the tool (K).
