Abstract:
In order to solve the problem that a seat cannot be smoothly mounted to a vehicle body because setting a seatback to a design reference position requires lock-off operation, a first surface (22a1) and a second surface (22a2) of a latch (22) are adapted to serve as permitting guide surfaces which permit the passage of a front leg (30F) of a striker when the first and second surfaces (22a1, 22a2) are forced to be in contact with the front leg (30F), and a third surface (22a3) provided to the inner edge of a containing space (22c) of the latch is adapted to serve as a stopper which is struck by the front leg of the striker, the third surface being formed at a position at which a rear leg (30R) is aligned with a lock groove (22b) of the latch when the front leg of the striker strikes the third surface. When the second surface (22a2) is forced to be in contact with the front leg (30F) of the striker, the latch is guided by the second surface to permit the passage of the front leg because the second surface serves as the permitting guide surface. When the seatback is continuously raised until the third surface (22a3) strikes the front leg, the seatback is set to a design reference position.
