Abstract:
Provided is a locking apparatus such that depletion of a battery supplying power to a microprocessor in an electronic control unit can be prevented by decreasing power consumption by the microprocessor. The locking apparatus is provided with: a locking mechanism that holds an open/close body for opening or closing an opening portion of a vehicle body at a position at which the opening portion is closed, and that is switched between an open state, a half-latch state, and a full-latch state; an electronic control unit that operates in a microprocessor normal power mode or a microprocessor power save mode; and an opening degree state detection means that detects the state of the locking mechanism, and is characterized in that the electronic control unit operates by transitioning from the microprocessor normal power mode to the microprocessor power save mode when, during operation in the microprocessor normal power mode, the opening degree state detection means detects that the locking mechanism has remained in any one of the open state, the half-latch state, and the full-latch state continuously for a predetermined time.
