Abstract:
Disclosed is a locking device for a vehicle such that a locking position or an unlocked position can be selectively assumed by actuating a drive train by a drive motor to cause the final member of the drive train to move relative to the housing, said locking position being a position restricting actuation of other members provided in the vehicle, and said unlocked position being a position allowing actuation of the other members. A stop section is integrally formed on either one of the bottom surface of the housing and a predetermined member of the drive train. A first engagement section and a second engagement section are provided on the other of the bottom surface of the housing and the predetermined member of the drive train, respectively. The first engagement section or the second engagement section abuts the stop section, with the result that the final member is positioned at the locking position or the unlocked position, respectively. The stop section is formed so as to have a tubular section which surrounds an internal hollow section. The first engagement section and the second engagement section abut different areas of the tubular section, thereby mitigating shocks caused by abutting.
