Abstract:
A locking nut capable of increasing its force for preventing the loosening of a screw of a bolt while maintaining at a proper level the thickness of rings which are engaged with the threads of a bolt and prevent the loosening of the screw. The nut consists of a nut body (1), and not less than two elastic rings (2, 3) fixed to the nut body (1). These rings (2, 3) are provided on their inner circumferential surfaces thereof with radially inwardly projecting engagement members a^_. A spacer (4) is disposed between these rings (2, 3) so as to form a space therebetween, and the engagement members a^_ of the rings (2, 3) engage the threads (51, 52) of a bolt (5) to prevent the loosening of the screw.
