Abstract:
Provided is a lockup clutch mechanism wherein, while the rigidity and the heat capacity of a lockup piston are increased by a simple structure, and the weight of the lockup piston is reduced, the increase of the temperature in a second sliding surface can be suppressed to improve the heat resistance of a second friction member. The lockup clutch mechanism is provided with a coupling member (36) for coupling a lockup piston (22) to a center plate (33) of a damper mechanism (24). The coupling member (36) is comprised of a drum portion (37) which extends in the axial direction (C) and which is splined to the outer peripheral portion of the center plate (33) in the radial direction, and a hollow disk portion (38) which is connected to an end portion of the drum portion (37) in the axial direction (C), said hollow disk portion extending inward from the end portion of the drum portion (37) in the radial direction, to face against the sliding surface of the lockup piston (22) via the lockup piston (22).
