Abstract:
The present invention provides a long film and long polarizing plate which contain cellulose acylate and compound A having a molecular weight of less than 1000 and satisfying conditions 1-4, a liquid crystal display device provided with a film or polarizing plate obtained from the long film or long polarizing plate, and a method for producing the long film. Condition 1: To contain two or more aromatic rings each directly bonded with a hydroxyl group in the molecule. Condition 2: To contain one or more carbon atoms which are directly bonded with an aromatic ring directly bonded with a hydroxyl group, and does not form an aromatic ring, in the molecule, wherein the one or more carbon atoms are each directly bonded with 1-3 aromatic rings. Condition 3: All carbon atoms that are directly bonded with an aromatic ring directly bonded with a hydroxyl group and that do not form an aromatic ring, have a bond with a hydrogen atom. Condition 4: All carbon atoms that are directly bonded with an aromatic ring directly bonded with a hydroxyl group and that do not form an aromatic ring, are bonded by a single bond with an atom other than a hydrogen atom.
