Abstract:
The invention relates to long flexible tubing which can be wound on a spool, and more particularly to coiled tubing or flexible production tubing. The technical effect is to increase the potential of well process operations. A long flexible tubing element comprises at least two closed channels combined to form a single structure. The closed channels are joined to one another by an interfacing partition formed by welding the points of connection between the walls of the closed channels to one another. The at least two closed channels and the interfacing partition are formed from two separate strips by shaping said strips from the middle by longitudinal bending, and subsequently welding the opposing longitudinal edges of the two strips to one another. The interfacing partition is provided with apertures and is double the thickness of a strip. One of the strips is made of steel that exhibits high strength under tension, and the other strip is made of steel that exhibits high ductility under compression.
