Abstract:
[PROBLEMS] A long-grommet insertion device with which, when wiring harness
is inserted through a long grommet, the wiring harness can be inserted into the
grommet with a connector attached to the wiring harness and without the grommet
partially extended. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] A grommet insertion device
is constructed from a grommet insertion jig and a grommet insertion jig pulling
device that works as a device for treating the grommet inserted in the grommet
insertion jig. The grommet insertion jig has a rod-like grommet insertion section
at one end of the jig, the grommet insertion section having an outer diameter smaller
than the inner diameter of the grommet; a connector receiving section at the other
end of the jig, the connector having a space for receiving the connector of the
wiring harness; and a tapered section whose outer diameter gradually increases
from the rod-like grommet insertion section toward the connector receiving
section. The grommet insertion jig pulling device has a grommet engagement section
and a pulling section. The grommet engagement section is at the front face of the
grommet insertion jig pulling device and has an opening whose diameter is varied
depending on the outer diameter of the grommet insertion jig. The pulling section
is located behind the grommet engagement section, is connected to the forward
end of the grommet insertion section of the grommet insertion jig, and pulls the
jig.
