Abstract:
Provided is a liquid crystal film with minimal in-plane unevenness in front color when incorporated into a display device, and with minimal individual differences in front color. Also provided are a long polarizing film, an image display device, and a method for producing a long liquid crystal film. The long liquid crystal film comprises at least: a long substrate, and a long liquid crystal layer having an in-plane phase difference. The long substrate has, in the longitudinal direction thereof, a plurality of band-shaped thickness variation regions which extend in the width direction. The liquid crystal layer has, at a position in the thickness unevenness region in the planar direction, a band-shaped in-plane phase difference unevenness region which extends in the width direction of the long substrate, and the phase difference gradient of the in-plane phase difference unevenness region falls within the range of 0.002 to 0.018 (nm/mm).
