Abstract:
The objective of the present invention is to provide a long optical film which contains a cycloolefin resin and a retardation enhancer, and which is stretched so as to have a slow axis that is inclined to the longitudinal direction, while being reduced in retardation unevenness in the width direction and having good appearance (in terms of wrinkles and sagging). A long optical film according to the present invention contains a cycloolefin resin and a retardation enhancer, and the in-plane slow axis thereof is inclined to the longitudinal direction at an angle within the range of 45° ± 10°. This long optical film is characterized by containing a compound that has a structure represented by general formula (1). (In the formula, X represents a heteroatom or a carbon atom; Q represents an atomic group necessary for forming an aromatic hetero ring together with a nitrogen atom and X; and each of R1-R4 represents a hydrogen atom or a substituent.)
