Abstract:
A louver drive device, comprising a louver shaft (11) generally orthogonal to the direction of the vertical movement of a needle, having an axis in the feeding direction of a sewn material, and installed throughout a sewing machine bed and a cylinder bed and a louver (13) installed at the tip of the louver shaft (11) through a louver stand (12), wherein the louver shaft (11) is swung around its axis in synchronism with the needle vertically moved by the rotation of a spindle (15) and moved forward and backward in the axial direction. The louver shaft (11) has a single axis throughout its entire length, a louver swing arm (20) swinging the louver shaft (11) is connected to the louver shaft (11) in the sewing machine bed, and a pair of louver shaft collars (26) holding, from the front and rear sides, a louver longitudinal movement arms (24) longitudinally moving the louver shaft (11) are connected to the louver shaft (11). Even when a spindle is rotated at high speeds, the louver can be smoothly operated in synchronism with the vertical movement of the needle without generating noise and the rattling of the louver shaft in operating a sewing machine.
