Abstract:

The invention is characterized by being a low-degree-of-polymerization vinyl alcohol polymer powder in which the yellow index of a powder, having a viscosity-average degree of polymerization of 100-500, a degree of saponification of 80-99.9 mol%, and a particle size in the 100-1000 μm range, is less than 10.0. A low-degree-of-polymerization vinyl alcohol polymer powder excellent in hue is thereby provided at good productivity.
