Abstract:
An amplifier (1) comprises: a first signal source (2) that outputs a first-frequency signal and a second-frequency signal; a second signal source (3) that outputs a first-frequency signal and a second-frequency signal; a first amplifier (4) that inputs the signals outputted by the first signal source (2) and that amplifies the inputted signals; a second amplifier (5) that inputs the signals outputted by the second signal source (3) and that amplifies the inputted signals; and an output synthesizer (6) that synthesizes the signals amplified by the first amplifier (4) and the signals amplified by the second amplifier (5). The amplifier (1) operates in an operating mode in which a phase difference between the first-frequency signals respectively inputted to the first amplifier (4) and the second amplifier (5), and a phase difference between the second-frequency signals respectively inputted to the first amplifier (4) and the second amplifier (5) satisfy a relational expression that reverses the phases of an intermodulation distortion component contained in the signals amplified by the first amplifier (4) and an intermodulation distortion component contained in the signals amplified by the second amplifier (5).
