Title:
LOW-FRICTION SLIDING MECHANISM
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2007/116861
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
[PROBLEMS] To provide a low-friction sliding mechanism that can realize excellent ultralow friction properties in a sliding face which is present in various applications. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] A low-friction sliding mechanism comprising a glycerin-containing lubricating agent interposed in a sliding face between sliding members having a hard carbon thin film. A hydroxyl group-containing lubricating agent is interposed in a sliding face between sliding members having a hard carbon thin film. The sliding contact condition is such that, under such boundary lubrication that the coefficient of friction of the face of sliding between steels, in which an engine oil has been interposed, is 0.1 to 0.14, the coefficient of friction is less than 0.02. The hard carbon thin film is formed of a-C or ta-C. The hardness of the hard carbon thin film is 1500 to 5000 Hv in terms of Microvickers hardness under a load of 10 g. The hard carbon thin film has a thickness of 0.3 to 2.0 µm. The hydroxyl group-containing lubricating agent is glycerin which is an alcohol compound.
